He held the manor and hundred of Corby, &c., in Northamptonshire, and in Yorkshire the original Latimer manor of Scampston. (Ch. Inq. p. m., 9 and 10 Edw. IV, no. 28.) This inquisition gives particulars of the fees of William Doncaster as bailiff of Corby in the time of John, Lord Latimer (d. 1430)—viz., 2d. per day, a robe yearly made from the cloth used for the lord's valets, "toll ale" from the ale brewed in the manor, bees and honey from the woods, hens and wood.
