In this source, Lord Poynings is stated to have married "before 22 Oct. 1397, Elizabeth, da. of Reynold (GREY), Lord GREY OF RUTHYN by his 1st wife Margaret, da. of Thomas (ROS), 4th Lord ROSE OF HELMSLEY."
Citing Devon, Issues of the Exchequer, 1837, page 265; Sussex Arch. Colls., volume xv, 1863, page 16.
Douglas Richardson (author of Plantagenet Ancestry) has, however, found that Lady Poynings was in fact Eleanor, not Elizabeth, citing E. F. Jacob, Register of Henry Chichele (Canterbury and York Soc., volume 46) (1945), page 455. Richardson also observed that the date of the marriage is likely to be wrong, since the marriage of Robert Poynings was granted to William le Scrope on 31 January 1398 (Cal. Patent Rolls, 1396–99 (1909), page 289). See https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/soc.genealogy.medieval/MbQkdNpvab8/MiAG2zkl4-gJ.
