"CROFT Robert Manners Esq. 29 September. Letters of Administration of the Personal estate and effects of Robert Manners Croft late of the City of Bath Esquire deceased who died 28 June 1860 at the City aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to Cecilia Isabella Croft of Scarborough in the County of York Widow the Relict of the said Deceased she having been first sworn. Effects under £600."

"CROFT.—On the 29th ult., suddenly, at Bath, Robert Manners Croft, late of the 1st Royal Dragoons, eldest son of the Archdeacon of Canterbury, aged forty-five."
Also reported in The Standard, Issue 11204, page 7, 10 July 1860, and Jackson's Oxford Journal, Issue 5594, page 7, 14 July 1860. Joseph Foster, Pedigrees of the County Families of Yorkshire (London, 1874), volume 1, Pedigree of Croft, of Stillington Park, appears to be in error in stating that he died 30 June. The National Probate Calendar states that he died 28 June.

"No. 45 } James Croft of the Parish of Saltwood in the County of Kent Bachelor and Charlotte Manners Sutton of this Parish Spinster were Married in this Church by special Licence this Fifth Day of October in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twelve By me C. Cantuar. This Marriage was solemnized between Us {James Croft} {Charlotte Manners Sutton} In the Presence of {F. Manners Sutton} {John C. Bisset}"
They were married by the father of the bride, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

"On the 28th inst., at Nostell Priory, by the Rev. Thomas Hutton Croft, Rector of Hutton Bushell, and Canon of York, Robert Manners Croft, Esq., eldest son of the Venerable the Archdeacon of Canterbury, to Cecilia Isabella, eldest daughter of Charles Winn, Esq., of Nostell Priory."
