A Reception will be held at Peterhouse, Don’s old college in Cambridge, on Saturday, 15th November, 2008. Several of his former colleagues will be present to pay tribute to one of the great enthusiasts of the modern family history movement. He worked tirelessly by lecturing, teaching, writing and inspiring others to discover their personal heritage. He was a co-founder of the C.U. Society of Genealogists and was much involved with the development of the Federation of Family History Societies and the launching of many local family history societies.
